Hunslet RLFC have announced the signings of Keighley Cougars duo Josh Tonks and Ryan Wright, as well as re-signing former winger Gavin Duffy, effective immediately.

Keighley captain, Tonks has scored six tries in 2018 and made 33 appearances for the side since joining ahead of the 2016 season.

On the signing from rival club, Head coach Gary Thornton told the club’s official website: “Josh has tons of League One and Championship experience, and is renowned as a tough, hard running, hard hitting back rower.

“He will add some real steel to our pack defensively, and give us some attacking options out wide.”

Leeds Rhinos academy product, Wright, 26, will also leave Cougars to join Hunslet as the side look to secure their top four position, currently sitting third with 22 points.

Former winger Duffy will also return on a deal until the end of the season, previously taking time away from the sport for work commitments.

“Gavin has been out of the game for a while due to work commitments, but has a good reputation as a quality winger,” added Thornton.

“Gavin is a hard working winger who will get us on the font foot and will bag his fair share of tries too.”

Hunslet will travel to Workington Town this weekend in round 16 of the Betfred League One.
