Hunslet move for Hodgson

James Gordon

Championship side Hunslet have signed former Huddersfield full back Elliot Hodgson.

Hodgson, 21, made just one appearance for the Giants, earning the man of the match award and a three-year full time contract following an impressive performance against St Helens.

But he was released from the final year of his contract at the Galpharm Stadium in November, and the Hawks have now moved to secure his services.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “Nathan Brown speaks highly of him and he’s looked real sharp in training with us so we have decided to strengthen our back options in view of the current injury crisis currently at the club.

“Hodgson still has a two game ban to serve so he won’t come into contention until the York fixture at South Leeds on Easter Sunday, however im really confident we have secured ourselves a very accomplished attacking strike player and Barry Eaton and myself are looking forward to seeing him in action.”
