Hunslet call for Chapman

Hunslet’s injury worries have been lightened by the return of hooker Richard Chapman.

Chapman, 36, left at the end of last season but has been called upon by coach Barry Eaton, who is without Liam Welham, Jack Bradbury, Stuart Kain, Aaron Dobek and Steve Dooler ahead of their Championship opener on Sunday.

Director of Rugby, Darren Williams said: “Richard has agreed to return to South Leeds as were currently in the middle of a glut on injuries, were struggling for half backs at the minute with Danny Grimshaw & Luke Helliwell ruled out for Sunday and Danny Allan rated doubtful so were going to have to swap players around the pivots.”

The Hawks travel to Hunslet for their opening league game of the season.
