Hull KR’s new recruit Brad Takairangi has visa approved

Cook Islands international Brad Takairangi has had his visa approved ahead of his move to Hull KR.

The 31-year-old and fellow new signing Albert Vete will link up with their new Hull KR team-mates early next month.

Takairangi has made almost 200 NRL appearances for Sydney Roosters, Gold Coast Titans and Parramatta. He has earned seven caps for the Cook Islands and four for New Zealand.

Hull KR coach Tony Smith commented: “Over Christmas, there were some department shutdowns in Australia, so it was a bit hard to get visas organised for the five of them (Takairangi’s family). So that’s probably taken a little longer than usual.

“Albert’s complication was the recent birth of his baby boy not long before Christmas, so once again we had to wait for a passport to be assigned to the baby before they could apply for their visas. That’s been the hold up there.”
