Hull KR wary of Brough’s boot

Hull Kingston Rovers welcome Huddersfield Giants to the KC Lightstream Stadium on Thursday night, and have identified one man as the main visiting threat.

Scotland star Danny Brough possesses a world-class kicking game, according to KR’s assistant coach Chris Chester.

“You can’t really pinpoint one player from Huddersfield, but Danny Brough is one of the best kickers in the competition – if not the world,” Chester told the Hull Daily Mail.

“But you take your eye off one player and another one comes up with some magic.

“They have got strike players all over the pitch. We just know that every individual has got to perform to the best of their ability to get a result, and I’m confident we will.”

Rovers’ veteran forward Jason Netherton is also well aware of the threat posed by the firecracker halfback, who captained Scotland in the 2013 World Cup.

“Huddersfield didn’t start the season very well but have hit some form lately and will be coming into the game with confidence,” he said.

“They’re a big team with some very skilful outside-backs, and of course the best kicker in the league in Danny Brough, so we will have to perform at our best to get the vital two league points tomorrow night.”
