Hull KR suffer injury blow with prop set for lengthy layoff

Hull KR have been dealt an injury setback, with Jordan Dezaria set to miss six weeks of action due to a broken foot.
The French forward missed Rovers’ victory over Catalans Dragons on Friday night and Love Rugby League has been informed it is due to a foot injury that will now see him miss the rest of the regular season, and some of the play-offs.
It has been a rough start to life at Sewell Group Craven Park at Dezaria, who is in his maiden season with the club since arriving from Les Dracs in the off-season. He missed the start of the season with a hamstring injury and subsequently missed more action due to a fractured eye socket, restricting him to just ten appearances for Willie Peters’ side so far this season.
He’s now set for another spell on the sidelines, which comes at a time when the Robins are managing veteran forward Sauaso Sue, who has been managing a foot injury of his own which has resulted in him needing extra protection.
Rovers were boosted by the return of Tevita Pangai Jnr in the 28-10 win over Catalans, with the forward actually playing in the back-row.
They take on Warrington Wolves on Tuesday in what is their game in hand after the two teams didn’t feature in round two due to Rovers’ involvement in the World Club Challenge.
Rovers will welcome Mikey Lewis back for that game after he completed his four-match suspension for a headbutt and late tackle, offences that came in a loss to Warrington last month.
The win over John Cartwright’s side saw them remain fifth and move six points clear of St Helens, who sit outside of the play-off zone in seventh.
Dezaria, who had a one-game loan with St Helens earlier in the season, made 88 appearances for the Dragons following his debut in 2016. He has also represented the likes of Toulouse Olympique and Leigh during his career.
