Hull KR skipper Campese recovering ahead of schedule

Hull KR coach Chris Chester has revealed that Terry Campese is recovering quickly after his knee operation, and he should be fully fit for the start of the 2016 campaign.

Campese has been missing from the team since June, having sustained his knee ligament injury in the Super League game against Castleford.

“We’re looking at another three or four months,” Chester told BBC Radio Humberside.

“But he’s ahead of schedule and working very hard with the medical staff.

“Everything is going to plan, he’s getting stronger and will be fine for next season. We will also try to get him a friendly before it starts.

“We’re a better team when he is on the field and we will wrap him up in cotton wool until his first game.”
