Hull KR sign Connor Lynes

Hull KR have announced that Connor Lynes will be an official part of their squad for the rest of the 2015 season.

The 14-year-old was left fighting for his life recently, when he developed a blood clot on the brain after playing for Lambwath Lions.

A keen Rovers fan, the club have awarded him the squad number 41 for the rest of the 2015 campaign. He will be listed in the programme and on the club’s website as being part of the squad.

The youngster will also deliver the matchball to the referee for Thursday evening’s Super League clash with Wakefield Wildcats.

“We’re delighted to add Connor to our squad,” Rovers coach Chris Chester told Rovers’ official website.

“We wanted to do something above and beyond for Connor who has had a tough time of it recently.

“Myself, Willie Poching and some of the boys all visited him when he was in hospital and it’s fantastic to see he is on the road to recovery.

“We’ve gone through the same procedure we would when we sign any player so he is now fully registered as an official member of my squad.”
