Hull KR have recalled highly-rated youngster Mikey Lewis from his loan at Newcastle.

The 18-year-old made his debut for Thunder in their 1895 Cup tie against York and went on to play seven games for the club.

Lewis impressed while plying his trade in League 1 and will stake a claim to make his Super League debut over the rest of 2019 with the Robins.

Newcastle coach Simon Finnigan said; “Mikey has had a big impact on the club since his arrival.

“His performances on the field have been excellent, he has been a real credit to this club.

“We would also like to extend our thanks to Hull KR for allowing us to take him on loan over the past eight weeks.”
