Hull KR ready to make a decision on Sandercock

Hull KR are set to decide on the future of head coach Craig Sandercock in the next few weeks.

Sandercock’s deal runs out at the end of the year, and he has found himself under pressure having overseen the club’s record Super League defeat to Wigan, following on from a disappointing 2012 which saw Rovers miss out on the play-offs for the first time in four years.

Chairman Neil Hudgell, whose own future is also in doubt after he revealed the club needs finance from elsewhere, said: “We still have a position to resolve with Craig and his position.

“I anticipate that the board will move that decision on in the next few weeks too, so that we have clarity and certainty for everyone in good time to plan for next year and beyond.”

Sandercock took charge at the beginning of last season, succeeding fellow Australian Justin Morgan, who led Rovers from the old National League 1 to Super League.
