Hull KR are without 13 players as they prepare to face Wigan in the Challenge Cup on Sunday.

The likes of Danny McGuire, Shaun Lunt and Justin Carney are sidelined for Tim Sheens’ side, who beat Oldham 32-0 in the previous round.

Kieran Moss, who plundered seven tries in York’s record-breaking 144-0 win over West Wales recently, is cup-tied having turned out for the City Knights earlier in the competition, while loanee hooker Aaron Smith is also unavailable.

Also on the sidelines are first-teamers Thomas Minns, Andrew Heffernan, Nick Scruton, Ben Kavanagh, Lee Jewitt, Danny Addy, Chris Clarkson and George Lawler.

Youngsters Owen Harrison, who captains the City of Hull Academy side, and 18-year-old Elliot Wallis are named in the 19-man squad and could make their first team debuts.

Sheens has also recalled James Donaldson, Matty Marsh and Joe Cator.

Opponents Wigan have named a strong squad, with captain Sean O’Loughlin expected to return after sitting out last weekend.

Liam Farrell returns after missing two games with an ankle problem, but full-back Morgan Escare isn’t selected.

Hull KR 19-man squad: Quinlan, Vaivai, Shaw, Masoe, Blair, Greenwood, Donaldson, Lee, Marsh, Mulhern, Salter, Johnson, Atkin, Dagger, Walne, Cator, Tickle, Harrison, Wallis.
