Hull Kingston Rovers have become the latest club to join the Parliamentary Rugby League Group.

They join Super League rivals Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors, as well as Batley and Oxford RL, in being members of the group, which also includes many community clubs.

“Anything we can do to help raise the profile of rugby league will get our full backing,” said Rovers chief executive Mike Smith.

“We firmly believe that 2015 will be an important year for the sport and the Parliamentary Rugby League Group will have a key role to play.

“They have worked very hard for over 25 years as a group of decision makers with an active and impartial interest in rugby league and we are looking forward to playing our part in that.”

The Parliamentary Rugby League Group Chairman, Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland added: “It’s great that Hull KR have joined the Group.

“I know how passionate they and their fans are in supporting and developing the game and we welcome the club into the Group and look forward to working with them and hearing their views.”
