Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell suffered an ankle ligament injury in their defeat to Huddersfield.

The 27-year-old limped off the field in the Robins’ miserable 22-4 loss to the Giants at Hull College Craven Park on Friday night.

Hull KR coach Tony Smith revealed Parcell had suffered an ankle ligament injury and would undergo a scan on Monday to assess the extent of the damage.

On the game, Smith said: “It was frustrating. It was really clunky.

“I thought we didn’t play the conditions very well, particularly taking advantage of that wind in the first half, we should have been kicking long and early.

“Our skill level, the amount of balls that went to ground tonight or behind players…

“The wind was probably stronger in training and we handled it really well.

“They got a pretty easy ride into half-time. It was hard to watch and it was hard to play in.”
