Hull KR head coach Chris Chester says his team were given “a bit of a reality check” in their 38-6 friendly defeat to Huddersfield.
The Giants romped to a one-sided victory on Sunday. It got worse for the Robins with forward Kevin Larroyer forced off with injury.
“There weren’t many positives to take from it apart from getting some minutes into the players,” Chester said.
“We weren’t where we need to be and we’ve got to improve. I don’t think the issues were in the middle.
“Our edge defence wasn’t too good today to say the least. We were all doing different things which isn’t what we have practised in training and we’ve got a lot of work to do on that.
“Our contact was atrocious and that could have been a lot better.
“There were too many one-on-one misses but the guys will work on that this week and we need to improve over the next seven days.”
