Rochdale have announced the signings of Will Tate and Tom Whur from Hull KR on initial two-week loan deals.

The pair link up with Matt Calland and his squad immediately, and could make their debuts for Hornets this Sunday against London Skolars.

Tate, 19, made his Super League debut for Tony Smith’s side in the 2020 season against Leeds, and can feature at full-back, wing or centre.

Whur, 19, features at prop and impressed in the club’s academy, earning a professional contract with the Robins.

Rochdale chairman Andy Mazey said: “I’d like to thank my colleague Paul Lakin at Hull KR and also Tony Smith for agreeing to loan us two very exciting young talents from their first team squad.

“This double loan deal for Will and Tom will strengthen Matt’s selection options as we continue to battle against ongoing injuries to key personnel this season.”
