Hull KR have today confirmed that they have agreed a two-year deal with former Crusaders Hooker Lincoln Withers.

The 30-year-old Australian made 154 appearances in the NRL with Wests Tigers, St George Illawarra and Canberra before joining Crusaders ahead of their debut Super League season in 2009.

Withers was subjuect to plenty of interest with Crusaders withdrew their Super League application at the end of the 2011 campaign.

Robins’ directors and new Head Coach, Craig Sandercock, met up with Withers in Sydney last week to tie up a deal and he will be the club’s fourth close-season signing, joining former Crusaders team-mate Ryan O’Hara and ex-Huddersfield duo, Graeme Horne and David Hodgson

Sandercock is delighted to have signed Withers and said “I’m excited about the signing of Lincoln. He is an experienced player with over 200 games combined in the NRL and Super League

“He’s proven to be a quality player over a long period and will definitely be an asset to Hull KR. I believe he still has plenty of great rugby ahead of him, and his leadership and ability to make correct decisions under pressure are excellent traits that he will bring to our club.”
