Hull KR confirm signing of Greg Minikin

Hull KR have confirmed the long-speculated signing of centre Greg Minikin from Castleford on a two-year deal.

Minikin, 24, was part of the Tigers team that reached the Super League Grand Final in 2017 and has scored 43 tries in 95 appearances since joining from York in 2016.

He said: “I am really happy and excited to be joining Hull Kingston Rovers. I have only heard good things about the club from the players that I have spoken to in the past.

“The deal to come here was done quite a while ago. It was a relief when it all got sorted and I could then focus on finishing well with Castleford ahead of coming here for 2020.

“I met with Tony Smith for the first time only a couple of weeks ago. It was really interesting; I was a bit nervous beforehand, but he was a really nice guy and we chatted about all things pre-season. It has made me even more excited to join Rovers.”

Minikin becomes Hull KR’s eighth new signing for 2020, following Jordan Abdull, Ethan Ryan, Matty Gee, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Harvey Livett, Jez Litten and Dean Hadley.
