Hull KR coach Chester mulling over selection dilemmas

Hull KR coach Chris Chester has admitted that he is facing some selection dilemmas this week, after his team won both their Easter fixtures.

The Robins secured a hard-fought win at home to Huddersfield on Monday, following their fine derby day win over Hull FC on Friday.

Their next game is an away trip to Castleford on Saturday, and with several players set to return from injury, Chester acknowledges he has some thorny issues to consider.

“We won’t be looking at the table, we’ve got another big game against Cas coming up on Saturday and the players have made my life very difficult in picking a team,” he told his club’s official website.

“There were some really good individual performances today. I thought the two backrowers, Graeme Horne and Kevin Larroyer, really stood up for us, and the forward pack was immense.

“Hopefully we’ve got a few bodies to come back in next week. Ken Sio, Greg Burke, Tyrone McCarthy and Kris Welham could all have played today at a push, but it will be very tough to drop anybody and pick a 17.

“We’ll see how everybody pulls through this week. Donno (James Donaldson) hurt his quad and Bobby (Maurice Blair) hurt his groin so we’ll assess those two in the morning.

“Bobby is up on Grade B charge anyway and will probably miss a week because of that.

Darrell Goulding broke his nose but there was no concussion there, he walked off the field absolutely fine so he might be in with a chance for Castleford.

“We don’t know too much on the others yet, we’ll enjoy this win and wait for the medical staff to get back to us.”
