Hull KR anxious to not go one from three

The pressure is on for Hull KR this weekend as they look to avoid a second defeat in The Qualifiers.

A home defeat to Salford in round one was followed by a crucial 28-22 win in Toronto last time out, and they travel to face defending Super League champions Leeds on Saturday.

No team has ever avoided the Million Pound Game, or worse, after winning one of their opening three games.

Coach Tim Sheens told the club’s official website: “The pressure is still on, we’re one from two and we do not want to be one from three. There’s some anxiety in this series but it’s how you handle it.

“A lot of our guys are used to it having played in the competition before but there was less pressure on us last year as a Championship side whereas now there’s expectation on us as a Super League team by the fans, from ourselves and the club.

“We have to play under that, but we have big-game players with not too many youngsters in the group. The experienced guys know what’s expected of them and it’s down to them to lead the way.”

Rovers have been boosted by the return of former Leeds hooker Shaun Lunt, who will join Danny McGuire in returning to his old stomping ground in its new look.
