Hull KR have released prop Evarn Tuimavave from the final year of his contract on compassionate grounds.

Tuimavave, 29, joined Rovers from Newcastle Knights ahead of the 2013 season on a two-year deal, and has requested a release so that he could return Down Under to be nearer to his family.

Rovers CEO Mike Smith said: “Evarn requested a release as he wanted to return home to be nearer family and friends. On behalf of everyone at the club I’d like to thank him for his contribution during 2013 and wish him all the very best for the future.”

The former New Zealand international, who won a solitary cap for the Kiwis back in 2008, scored two tries in 23 appearances for the Robins.
