Salford blew the relegation dogfight wide open with a hard fought 28-24 victory at Hull KR in a gripping contest, which brings the bottom placed Reds within a point of the Robins.

A lightning start by the Reds set them on their way, with Luke Dorn, Aaron Moule and Jon Wilshere all crossing within the first 10 minutes.

The home side hit back before the break, with tries from Jim Gannon and Mark O'Neill reducing arrears to 16-10 at half time.

Although tries from debutant Mark Lennon, Jon Goddard and Andreas Bauer brought Rovers back in to contention, scores from Luke Robinson and David Hodgson saw Salford pick up a valuable two points to ensure they don't fall away at the foot of Super League.
