Hull KR scored 16 unanswered points in the second half to snatch a 22-16 from Toulouse and keep their Super League play-off hopes alive.

The win sees the Robins go eighth in the Super League table, level on points with Hull FC and Salford who sit just above them on points difference.

As for Toulouse, the French side sit rooted to the bottom of the table and will be left scratching their heads as to why they lost that one.

Hull KR welcomed four regulars back from the treatment room. Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Frankie Halton, Matty Storton and Jimmy Keinhorst all returned to action.

Italy international Daniel Alvaro came back for Toulouse after serving a suspension.

Former New Zealand international Kenny-Dowall thought he had scored in the opening stages. However, his effort was ruled out by the video referee for double movement.

Hull KR did open the scoring though in the 13th minute. Elliot Minchella went over after the Robins pulled the Toulouse defence apart.

Toulouse levelled the score midway through the first half. Scotland international Matty Russell scored his 12th try of the season.

Alvaro marked his return with his first try for Toulouse on the half hour mark. Chris Hankinson kicked his second conversion to send Toulouse into the half-time interval with a 12-6 lead.

Toulouse extended through lead shortly after the second half restart through Niue international Latrell Schaumkel.

But Danny McGuire’s Robins fought their way back into the game in the 53rd minute. Ireland international Ethan Ryan latched onto a well-weighted grubber from Rowan Milnes to score.

The Robins tied the score at 16-16 in the 71st minute when Ireland international Frankie Halton went over, with Rowan Milnes converting.

Hull KR snatched the victory from Toulouse’s grasp five minutes from time when Milnes scored from a scrum play. He converted his own try to seal a pulsating 22-16 win for Hull KR at Craven Park.
