Hull KR Rivals Round

Hull KR claimed bragging rights over rivals Hull FC with a 16-4 score at Craven Park on Good Friday.

Lachlan Coote scored 12 points to inspire his side to victory with a sell out crowd of 10,300.

Rowan Milnes replaced the injured Mikey Lewis in the halves for the hosts. They were also without Albert Vete and Korbin Sims.

Carlos Tuimavave returned for Hull FC, named in the centres. Josh Reynolds partnered Luke Gale in the halves.

It took 28 minutes for the deadlock to be broken. In-form winger Ryan Hall scored his 217th Super League try thanks to a smart kick from full-back Coote. The former Saints man couldn’t convert his first attempt from out-wide.

Josh Reynolds hit back just four minutes later, supporting a half-break from centre Josh Griffin to score Hull’s first. Luke Gale hit the post on his attempt, leaving a 4-4 score.

Shaun Kenny-Dowall almost restored his side’s lead on 36 minutes, only for his grounding to be on the dead-ball line. Abdull attempted a drop-goal in the last second, but his shot went wide.

In a nasty incident, Elliot Minchella made a formal complaint against Brad Fash for a bite late in the second half.
