Leeds Rhinos overcame a stubborn Hull KR outfit at Craven Park in an enthralling Super League encounter. However, the victory came at a cost with a number of Leeds stars sustaining injuries during the game.nnThe visitors took a controversial early lead through Carl Ablett after four minutes. Referee Phil Bentham deemed that Makali Aizue had played at a Rhinos kick and wiped the tackle count clean. nnThe hosts moved in front in the ninth minute through stand-in captain Shaun Briscoe. The fullback collected a neat Paul Cooke kick to touch down underneath the posts. nnLeeds winger Scott Donald had a try ruled out for a knock on before Michael Dobson extended Rovers lead with a penalty on seventeen minutes. The scrum half added another penalty before the break to send the home side into the break 10-4 in front.nnThe Rhinos restored their lead in the 48th minute through Ryan Hall and almost extended it further on the hour mark. However, Keith Senior‘s try claim was ruled out after some tremendous Rovers defence.nnThe home side began to assert themselves shortly afterwards and an ill-disciplined Leeds outfit lost Paul McShane to the sin-bin. Jake Webster appeared to have put Hull KR back in front after 65 minutes but video referee Ian Smith controversially ruled the score out for a knock-on.nnThe Robins then saw Peter Fox harshly sent to the sin-bin for holding down. Leeds teenage sensation Kallum Watkins took advantage by collecting a Ryan Bailey pass to score out wide. However, the try was marred by an injury to Bailey who was carried from the field on a stretcher.nnThe hosts continued to press forward with Webster spurning a fantastic opportunity to bring the Robins back into the game.
