Hull FC player Fetuli Talanoa has been banned from driving for 23 months, after being caught drink-driving.

The incident occurred on the A164, and the player was almost twice over the legal drink-drive limit when he was stopped driving his Hyundai i30 at Willerby on May 3.

A breat test showed that Talanoa had had 90mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

The New Zealand-born Tongan international admitted drink driving when he appeared at Beverley Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

He was banned from driving for 23 months and must pay a total of £1,335 in fines and court costs. He has had no previous convictions in the UK or New Zealand.
