Hull add young winger to squad

Hull have signed former Bradford academy player Curtis Naughton from Sydney Roosters.

Naughton, 19, moved Down Under at the end of last year but now returns to the UK with Hull on an initial one-year deal, with the club holding the option of a further 12 months.

He said: “I can’t wait to get back to the UK and begin pre-Season training as well as meeting my new team mates.

“I have spoken to Lee [Radford] a couple of times and he is one of the many reasons why I believe Hull is the place for me, I used to love watching him in the first grade at the Bulls when I was younger.

“He believes I can do a job and I cannot wait to repay the faith he has shown in me by putting in good performances.”

Naughton, who is Hull’s fifth new signing for 2015, is yet to make a first team appearance, but has represented England at Academy level.

Radford said: “He comes to us with a big reputation as a promising youngster with very strong references. He played under Andy Last for England U19’s, as well as with two of our former captains in Andy Lynch and Craig Fitzgibbon who have both tipped him as one to watch.

“He has spent the last twelve months playing in Sydney with the Roosters in their U20’s comp and Fitzy has been keeping a close eye on him, so we know exactly what we’re getting and we all believe this kid has the talent to become a firm favourite with the fans at the KC.”
