Hull 14-6 Huddersfield

Hull followed up their impressive opening day victory over St Helens with a hard-fought 14-6 win over Huddersfield.

Richard Agar’s side looked good for the two points against last season’s surprise package, and they took an early lead through Danny Tickle after Willie Manu‘s powerful run.

After his man of the match performance last weekend, Sean Long was once again in fine form, and he was instrumental as Hull established a lead that they were never to surrender.

Centre Craig Hall crossed for their second try, and the Airlie Birds went in 12-0 up at the break.

Nathan Brown’s Giants, who finished third in Super League last season, rallied at the beginning of the second half and hit back through Scott Grix, with Leroy Cudjoe adding the extras.

However, Tickle’s penalty restored Hull’s two score lead and they secured another impressive two points.
