Hull 14-12 Salford

James Gordon

Hull held off a courageous second half fightback from Salford to secure a narrow victory at the KC Stadium on Friday night.

The home side took the lead early on when Gareth Raynor crossed in the corner, but Jeremy Smith‘s converted try edged the Reds in front – Smith getting on the end of a beautifully weighted kick by Richie Myler.

Hull hit the front when Motu Tony supported a break and went over, and Danny Tickle‘s penalty right on the hooter gave Hull a 12-6 half time lead.

Another two pointer by Tickle put Hull two scores ahead but Darrell Goulding‘s well worked try put Salford back in the fight.

However, Richard Agar’s men held on for a valuable two points, which moved them up in to the top 8.
