Huddersfield have swooped to sign World Cup winner David Fa’alogo on a four-year deal.

Fa’alogo, 28, has been granted a release from the final year of his contract with South Sydney Rabbitohs and will join the Giants in 2010.

He is the second Kiwi to seal a switch to Super League this week following confirmation of Sia Soliola’s move to St Helens.

Both played in New Zealand‘s 38-10 defeat by Australia.

Fa’alogo has taken advantage of a clause in his contract which allowed him to explore the option of playing in the UK and will link up with former St George Illawarra coach Nathan Brown at the Galpharm Stadium.

“David informed us by the deadline of 31 March 2009 that he intended to move to the UK Super League, as per the clause in his playing contract,” said Souths chief executive Shane Richardson.

“We wish Dave and his wife Mel the best of luck next year and we look forward to a big second half to this season from him as we charge towards to the finals.”
