Huddersfield set to sign NRL star – reports

Huddersfield are close to finalising a deal to sign half-back Aidan Sezer from Canberra Raiders, according to reports Down Under.

The 28-year-old is set to be granted an early release from his deal with the Raiders, report The Daily Telegraph in Sydney.

It’s understood that he will be released so they can offer New Zealand international Jordan Rapana a new and improved contract.

And with Canberra having signed Wigan and England half-back George Williams on a three-year deal from 2020, Sezer would be surplus to requirements next year.

Sezer made his international debut for Turkey last year and has made over 150 appearances in the NRL with Canberra and Gold Coast Titans.

Talks between Huddersfield and Sezer’s representatives are at an advanced stage, with the Giants now favourites to secure his services.
