Huddersfield Giants have named a strong squad for their upcoming pre-season friendly with Hull KR.

With their recent friendly with Halifax being postponed without a rearrangement, Paul Anderson has been left with little choice but to name the strongest side he has available in the David Hodgson Testimonial.

Craig Huby with a broken wrist, along with Eorl Crabtree will be the only absentees from the Giants squad, with Anderson promising to name numbers one to seven in their squad list to start the game.

Both of Huddersfield’s pre-season signings in Sam Rapira and Ryan Hinchcliffe will wear a Giants jersey for the first time, with Anderson hoping his side can hit the ground running and go one step further and reach their first Grand Final in 2016.

Huddersfield Giants: Scott Grix, Jermaine McGillvary, Leroy Cudjoe, Joe Wardle, Aaron Murphy, Danny Brough, Jamie Ellis, Ryan Hinchcliffe, Michael Lawrence, Larne Patrick, Daniel Smith, Sam Rapira, Ukuma Ta’ai, Jake Connor, Josh Johnson, Kruise Leeming, Nathan Mason, Oli Robers, Luke Robinson, Jared Simpson, Darnell McIntosh, Sam Wood.
