Huddersfield in big injury blow

Huddersfield’s loss of its opening game of the season against St Helens has been compounded by worrying injuries to Danny Brough, Scott Grix and Joe Wardle.

The Giants went down to Saints 30-16 on Friday night at a wet Langtree Park.

But more concerning for the Yorkshire side is the fitness of three key players.

Danny Brough and Scott Grix were both forced from the field, Brough with a dead leg and with Grix with a dislocated shoulder.

Skipper Brough is unlikely to be right for round two against Wigan while fullback Grix will be out for some time.

The Giants also lost Joe Wardle before kick off when he pulled a quad muscle. The 24-year old is expected to be on the sidelines for at least a month.

It comes at a troubling time for Huddersfield with the club already without Craig Huby, Luke Robinson and Kyle Wood due to injury.
