Huddersfield Giants 12-16 Hull FC

The battle of Super League’s bottom two ended in a win for last season’s Grand Finalists Hull FC, but leaves Huddersfield Giants bottom of the pile without a win to their name.

The Giants have suffered narrow defeats to St Helens, Hull KR, Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos, and suffered yet another narrow defeat in this 16-12 loss at the Galpharm stadium.

The home side had taken an early an early lead thanks to a try and a goal from Chris Thorman, but the Black and Whites responded through Shaun Briscoe’s try, converted by Danny Tickle.

The sides went in at the break locked at 6-6, but Matt Sing broke the deadlock with an unconverted try just after the restart before Paul King extended that advantage and Tickle tagged on another two points.

Thorman touched down for another try and conversion towards the end of the game, but his solo scoring contribution was not enough to prevent the Giants slipping still further behind the Super League pack.
