Bradford have signed forward Mikey Wood from Huddersfield on a permanent basis.

The 22-year-old originally joined the Bulls on loan at the start of 2018 and impressed in his time at Odsal, with him now singing a permanent one-year deal.

Wood, who played two first-team games for the Giants, started in Bradford’s win over Workington Town in the League 1 Promotion Final last weekend.

He is delighted to be joining Bradford permanently for next season.

Wood said: “I’m over the moon with the signing, it’s a club with a lot of history and a great fanbase which I am proud to be a part of.

“John is a great coach and he knows a lot about rugby league as you can tell. I’ve loved working with him so far – it’s been a real honour.

“It was an unbelievable feeling last Sunday. I think that we deserved to lift that trophy and all of our hard work has really paid off.

“The fans are unbelievable and playing in front of a crowd like that gives you an extra lift during the game, which is a big bonus for us because they never shut up.”
