Huddersfield forward joins Sheffield on loan

Sheffield have signed Huddersfield back-rower Peter Aspinall on an initial one month loan.

Aspinall, 19, made his Super League debut for the Giants last year, featuring against Bradford and Salford, and has also represented England Under 18s during a tour of Australia.

Eagles coach Mark Aston said: “I’m glad we’ve been able to bring Peter in and further strengthen the squad.”

“He comes with strong recommendations following an excellent off-season at the Giants.

“Like Jordan Burke (Eagles loan signing from Warrington), Peter is a young player with heaps of potential.

“We are beginning to adapt to the tighter pitch at Owlerton and Peter’s physicality and attacking style will prove very useful.”
