Huddersfield confident of pulling off deal for Kenny Edwards

Huddersfield coach Simon Woolford is hoping it’ll be a case of third time lucky with Catalans forward Kenny Edwards.

Edwards, 29, has been heavily linked with the Giants, who are believed to have offered him a three-year deal.

Woolford said: “We’re in talks with Kenny. We’re a fair way down the line with him so we’re hopeful that he’ll be on board with us next year.

“Quite a few clubs are keen on Kenny. I’ve tried to get him a couple of times. I tried when he first came over to the Catalans and then I tried to sign him for this year.

“He committed to another 12 months with them but hopefully it’s third time lucky.”

Huddersfield have so far announced just one new signing for 2020, centre Chester Butler from Halifax.

But they have been sucked in to the Super League relegation battle, and travel to Salford on Thursday night.
