Huddersfield overcame a tough first half to secure a comfortable 40-4 win over Harlequins.

Academy product Jermaine McGillvary and Kevin Brown scored unconverted tries in the first half, with Luke Dorn replying for the visitors, as the teams went in 8-4 at half time.

The Giants ran riot in the second half, scoring tries through Simon Finnigan, Michael Lawrence, Scott Grix, David Hodgson and Danny Brough, who converted two of Huddersfield’s eight tries.

But McGillvary rounded off the scoring with his second try, meaning he has scored twice in three of his four first team starts for the Giants.

Elsewhere, Leon Pryce put his England snub behind him with a man of the match performance for St Helens in their 50-6 stroll over Wakefield, while Leeds came from behind to see off a dogged Salford side, 31-22 at The Willows.
