Huddersfield 14-18 Wakefield: Tom Johnstone at the double for Trinity

Two tries from Tom Johnstone helped Wakefield edge past Huddersfield 18-14 at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Wakefield opened the scoring in the 17th minute as Matty Ashurst latched onto a grubber from Jacob Miller to touch down.

Aidan Sezer tied the score at 6-6 thanks to a lovely show and go midway through the first half.

Luke Robinson’s Giants led 10-6 at the break thanks to an effort from Jordan Turner.

Sam Wood extended Huddersfield’s lead in the second half to put his side in a 14-6 lead.

But Wakefield hit back in the 55th minute through winger Johnstone, but they still trailed by two points with 25 minutes left.

Johnstone grabbed his second of the night five minutes from time to secure an 18-14 victory for Chris Chester’s side.
