Castleford Tigers prop forward Craig Huby has signed a new three-year extension to his contract that will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2014 season.

Huby, 24, is the club’s longest serving player having made his debut for his hometown club against Leeds Rhinos as a 16 year-old in 2003.

On signing Craig, whose existing contract was set to end at the end of the season, said:

“Playing for Castleford is something I always wanted to do as a kid and I just wanted to show how loyal I am and now I’m focusing on kicking on with the club.”

“I never wanted to go anywhere else. “

Terry Matterson, Tigers head coach said:

“I’m really pleased and I think all of the fans should be as well.

“It would have been madness if we had lost Craig as I think his best Rugby is in front of him and I’ve no doubt that he’ll play some representative football down the line.

“He’ll be the cornerstone of our pack for many years and I know Craig is very happy with it”.

Craig has already made 160 appearances and scored 39 tries, 127 goals and 406 points for the club.
