Harlequins centre David Howell has been handed a three match ban by the RFL after his red card against Wigan on Friday.

Howell, 25, was the first player to be sent off in Super League this season when he clashed with Sam Tomkins at the JJB Stadium and was also fined £300.

He has played in every Quins match this season and is their top try scorer.

Meanwhile, Barrow forward Ned Catic will miss this weekend’s Northern Rail Cup final against Widnes after he was handed a two match ban following his red card against Batley.
