Rochdale Hornets have captured the signing of Billy Brickhill from Gloucestershire All Golds for the 2018 season.

Brickhill is a versatile player and is able to play at hooker, loose forward, scrum-half and stand-off.

He made 24 appearances for the All Golds in 2017, scoring two tries while also picking up the Fans Player of the Year award at the end of the League 1 campaign.

The utility-man played for North Wales Crusaders before Gloucestershire, playing 13 games in 2016 and being voted as the Young Player of the Year.

Brickhill has previously been in the Salford Red Devils Academy and represented Lancashire Under-18s.

And he is excited about challenging himself in a high division next season.

He said: “It’s going to be a tough division next year in the Championship, with the likes of Toronto, Toulouse, London Broncos and Leigh.

“That’s a challenge I am looking forward to though and hopefully it can bring the best out of me.

“I’m just aiming to get a good pre-season under my belt with the lads, and then focus on doing well next year.

“I just want to force my way into the team, and if I achieve that, I want to become a regular starter and play well.”
