Bradford chairman Peter Hood is set to leave Bradford next month.

Hood revealed he has accepted his fate in the club’s match day programme during their home game against Huddersfield.

He and Andrew Bennett are expected to be voted out at an extraordinary general meeting which has been called by Chris Caisley, Hood’s predecessor.

Caisley is the Bulls’ majority shareholder despite stepping down in 2006.

Hood wrote: “For a handful of shareholders in Bradford Bulls Holdings led by former chairman Chris Caisley, who between them hold slightly in excess of 50% of the company’s share capital, have given notice that they intend to vote myself and Andrew Bennett out of office at an extraordinary general meeting called for next month.

“There has been speculation that Mr Caisley and his cohorts may be in a position to introduce new funding into the club.

“If that proves to be the case, it is to be greatly welcomed and applauded for, as we know, the role of moneymen these days is central to sporting success. Neither I nor Andrew Bennett would wish to be an impediment to that.”

Hood launched a campaign to save the club after revealing they needed to raise £1 million by the end of April, half of which had to be raised at the end of Easter.

The club succeeded in raising the £500,000 but a new investor is needed to stabilise the club’s finances.
