Former Leeds hooker Liam Hood is to join Salford after they agreed a fee with his current club, Hunslet.

Hood, 22, was released by the Rhinos at his own request last September, and opted to join the Hawks, where he made 19 appearances on dual-registration in 2013.

He will now return to Super League next season with the Red Devils, who will also send a player on loan to Hunslet as part of the deal.

Writing on Twitter, Hood said: “Well now it’s official, I’m pleased to say I’ve signed for Salford Red Devils.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead and getting back to top flight rugby.

“I’d also like to say a massive thank you to Hunslet Hawks for everything they’ve done for me and wish them all the best for the future.”
