Featherstone have signed young back-rower Joe Fox from Huddersfield on a one-year deal.

Fox, 20, was named Giants Under 20s Player of the Year in 2011, but hasn’t been able to break through in to the first team at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Featherstone Head Coach Daryl Powell said: “We are delighted to offer an opportunity to a talented young back rower who has been with Huddersfield from a young age. He is an athletic back rower who will thrive within the Featherstone Rovers environment.”

Fox will now hook up with his hometown club ahead of the 2013 season.

He added: “I’m looking forward to joining my home town club. 2013 will be a big year for me in terms of my development and I can’t think of a better club to join. The whole club is going places and I’m excited about being part of it.”
