Hodkinson considering England switch

Trent Hodkinson has confirmed that England coach Wayne Bennett has approached him about switching allegiances to the birthplace of his father.

The Newcastle halfback is Australian, and has played six times for NSW, but qualifies for England through his father.

Hodkinson, who joined the Knights this year from the Bulldogs, is keeping his options open.

“We’ll have to wait and see,” he told The Newcastle Herald.

“I’ve spoken to Wayne and that’s all I’m going to say at the moment.”

Hodkinson debuted for Manly in 2010 and has made 130 NRL appearances.
