Injured Brisbane star Justin Hodges is targeting the round 23 clash with Canterbury for his comeback.

Hodges, 30 suffered a hamstring tear in last weekend’s derby victory over Gold Coast and will miss Parramatta’s visit to Suncorp Stadium on Monday night.

He will also sit out the trip to Canberra the following Monday but Hodges is confident he will be ready for the following week’s match up with the in-form Bulldogs.

“In terms of the injury, the leg is going well, I started rehab today – it’s actually both my left ankle and hamstring, but I hope to be back for the game against the Bulldogs,” said Hodges.

Despite suffering several injuries and suspensions, Hodges believes the Broncos are capable of landing a top four spot come season’s end.

“There is something special about pulling on a Broncos Jersey,” Hodges said.

“We have issues with injury and judiciary but our players, whether they are Baby Broncos or not will be ready to perform against the Eels.

“The Parramatta Eels played really well last week against the Melbourne Storm.

“This is an important game and we have to play with the right attitude to win the game.”
