Hock definitely facing Halifax

Leigh coach Paul Rowley has confirmed that Gareth Hock will play for the Centurions against Halifax this weekend.

The aggressive forward has recently undergone surgery on a torn knee cartilage, sustained in the recent Qualifiers clash with Hull KR.

It was anticipated he might return to action last week against Sheffield Eagles, but Rowley did not risk him.

“Hock will definitely play this weekend,” Rowley told the Manchester Evening News.

Rowley is also an admirer of Fax coach Richard Marshall, who he thinks has made significant improvements at the Shay.

“Richard Marshall picked up the baton after Karl Harrison moved on,” he added.

“Karl did a good job at Halifax but Richard has changed a few things and made them more of a saleable product.

“Halifax showed spirit against Salford last time out. Quite a few of the Salford tries were scored from deep.”
