England international Chris Hill will retain the captain’s armband at Warrington, coach Steve Price has confirmed.

Stand-off Kevin Brown, who played alongside Hill as England lost the World Cup final in Australia last month, will be vice-captain.

Price said: “Chris is a very experienced player within our squad and showed outstanding leadership throughout the World Cup campaign with England.

“He’s always full of energy, he challenges the players around him and I know he’s a guy I can certainly rely on.

“I’ve had a high opinion of Kevin as a player for a long time. He’s another person I know I can rely on.”

“He’s analytical, understands the game well and communicates well amongst his peers. He’s a guy with strong leadership within the group and isn’t afraid to voice his opinion.

“The two will complement each other well.”
