New Zealand Warriors hooker Ian Henderson has repaid the faith put in him by coach Ivan Cleary by extending his contract with the Auckland-based club until the end of 2011.

The 26-year-old former Sydney, Parramatta and Bradford player joined the Warriors last year and has not missed a game by playing 34 straight games for his new club.

“I have absolutely loved it coming to Auckland. It’s been a great move and there’s a really good bunch of boys here as well,” said Henderson.

“I think the club has so much to look forward to and I want to be part of that.”

Cleary said Henderson had been one of the club’s best signings.

“Hendo’s such an aggressive footballer with plenty of cheek about him,” Cleary said.

“He’s been great for our side since the day he arrived and he’s got a lot more to offer.”
