Henderson calls for more Championship TV coverage

London Broncos coach Andrew Henderson believes the Championship deserves more television coverage.

Sky took the TV rights to the Championship from Premier Sports but has declined showing live games, apart from last weekend’s Summer Bash.

Henderson believes Sky could give the competition more air-time.

“Sky has neglected the Championship to some degree,” he said.

“There could be a live game on TV each round, they used to do it. I thought Premier Sports did a great job with the Championship.

“I feel Sky could have given it a bit more justice, invest a bit more time and effort.

“The Championship‘s still got plenty of twists and turns to come.”

Henderson said he supported the inaugural Summer Bash in Blackpool, but also understood why some had criticised it.

“I’m not against it, but I can understand the criticisms,” he said.”I

don’t mind the concept. It had a summer feel to it. It was a great opportunity for fans and players to experience a big-game feel.
